Hi all! I'm new here. Looking to check out some the reports and what not. I'm from Canisteo, NY.  Thinking about heading up to Honeoye tomorrow. Not sure how conditions are though and I found this forum and decided why not. Thanks in advance!

I’m new to the forum as well from Bath, NY. Also I’m new to the area. Just looking for good spots to try for perch, crappie, and bluegills. Can anyone point me to a decent lake or pond to start (not too far away)?

Welcome to Ice Shanty.  Lakes close to you are Keuka (somewhat large) and Waneta (small).  Farther to the West are Honeoye, Conesue and Silver.  Open each of these lake pages and read the info. from the fishermen that fish these lakes.

Thanks for all the welcomes and well wishes. I’ve been reading up on other posts almost every day. Just so new to the site I didn’t realize you had responded. Keuka is what drew me to the area. I love catching smallmouth when the water is open. I’d love to get into a mess of bluegills this winter though. I’m hearing good things about Honeoye. Been there once with my boat since I moved here and didn’t do well but it was the hottest heat of the summer then. I’ll probably be giving it a shot on hard water sometime soon!
