Grand Rapids area - Fisk / Reeds Lake

Saw a brave soul headed out onto Fisk Lake yesterday.   Driving by Reeds today - it's been locked up for a couple days.  No one out on the ice yet.  Will hopefully get over there tomorrow and check on the condition of the ice.  We're making ice, not losing at this point.  Finally!

Stay safe.  Spud all the way.  Please report any other lakes in Kent County that might be close.  Thanks

Went out to test the ice today.  NW end - near the pike grounds but not that far out.  2.5 - 3" clear hard ice.  A couple others have brought a spud and auger to test holes.   Super solid - still a bit unnerving walking out.  You can see the depth of the ice due to the pressure cracks.  Tons of bass and bluegills in the shallows swimming away.  No one out fishing on the lake yet.

Stay safe!  I would still spud further out as there are a couple of thin spots usually.

Fisk is private.  It was intended to let people know about the area and that someone was on the ice.

Reeds lake is the only other lake in the area , can you drive a mile down the street and give us a report of a lake we can all fish on ?    If fisk has three inches then reeds might have a inch .
