when dragging it across the ice the holes face the back. get to the spot & tip it into place. skis mount to the side of the shack. I've seen some shacks built on a small trailer frame sitting on the ice with the tongue in the air.

I think he is asking about skis attached to the tub of a flip over that "flip" away from the tub in order to set it onto the ice.  I've seen a couple versions of that in the smitty sled thread and theres one below this thread.
