By the looks of your list I would have to say you must have lost some weight. LOL

Lol.....he's lucky all those were discontinued or he would be diabetic

Sadly, these weren't my only sugar and fat sources.

I'm actually 40 pounds heavier than I was in the 80's when many of those things were still available.  Target weight is about -20 from here.  Dad's diabetic but I keep testing clean!  And yes if those things were still around some of them would make it out on the ice with me.

Don't let it bug you. I am over 40 lbs heavier than I was in the 80's,90's and about 30 over what I was in 2000. But that is when I hurt my back.

This topic just went the way of the Dinosaurs. I can hear the Jurrasic Park theme song playing as a bunch of old talk about how fat they are. Another species just died

ok, chime in if anyone knows for sure, but, i was told diesel takes less refining to produce....say over unleaded......if so why is it higher priced? who really knows ? so, i would say i miss the sanity of the world that did NOT try and screw every customer to death. my truck only gets 8 miles to the gallon, which limits the ice fishing i can do.

The price of diesel and gas flip flopped in the 1980's right after i bought a new diesel pick up truck. :(
De-regulation and road taxes were the excuse.

Diesel takes less refining-true. Diesel also has more energy in it then unleaded fuel. So your mileage is better. Hence why heavy machinery & large trucks use diesel for pulling power. Fuel road taxes for trucks shipping stuff to maintain roads from the damage the heavy payloads due adds to the cost of diesel. Just look at the price of ruby red fuel (non highway) vs road diesel. Ruby red is for machinery not ran on roads. Like farm equipment, and construction job machines.

Diesel is to unleaded fuel is like unleaded fuel to ethanol for energy contained in a gallon. All are great products, only one doesn’t hurt the environment.

That we know of... Look how long it took to discover hydrocarbon fuels were "evil". Same with some medicines or recreational substances (think tobacco) hurting us. Sometimes it just takes time to reveal the real impact or side effects of what we do or ingest.

Not sayin' you're wrong or picking. Just sayin'. Letcha know in, oh, 40-50 years how it all shakes out  ::) ;).

To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

Those old Worth co. magnetic tip ups.  The things are absolutely bulletproof and always work flawlessly.  I found a pair on ebay years ago, but otherwise none to be found.

Gas without Ethanol for < $1/gallon
[/quote]
Early 60's driving home from Austin TX, Indianapolis gas war. $0.19 / gallon.
We built in 1965 and installed a 1000 gallon fuel oil tank outside underground. Filled for $129.00, yes 12.9 cents per gallon.

The St.Croix premier ice rods. Those blue rods are awesome and now discontinued. I usually buy all the medium and medium heavies I come across for lakers and big 'eyes.
Exactly. I have about 5 of them, 32" or 36" long, M or MH, for my deep water ice fishing for lakers and whitefish, that is. And I love these rods:-)
Mostly ice fishing Lake Simcoe in southern Ontario, Canada, for lake trout (lakers), lake whitefish (whities), and jumbo yellow perch:-)

Mitchell  Brush'n rod. 36" Heavy Rod for Lake trout. I bought 10 of them off Ebay once real cheap and sold half to a friend and at this point only have one left.  I wish I had bought the guy out as cheap as I got them. They are a really good rod.

The original Worth company tip-ups.  The gray tubular tip-ups with a magnet on the spool and bottom of the plastic pop-up flag.  The new ones sold by HT (I think) are junk by comparison.  Glad I still have 4 working originals.  The old ones are rare now and pricey if you find them on fleaBay once in a great while.

DN

I too would buy more. A old timer knew I loved these and gave me these 5 couple years ago.  All stars I call them. The new ones are garbage don’t waste your money. Best trap ever made my $.02
