LIMIT! A limit of perch would be a good goal. I would like to become an all around better ice fisherman but for some reason I have a hard time finding reliable perch

I know I don't want to catch a sturgeon, a sheepshead, or a mudpuppy...

First, tired of hour long fights, just to break line off...
Second, hate that tug and waddle and poof it's a freshwater drum...
Mudpuppies are just slimey, nuff said...

My boy is almost 2 and I look forward to leaving work and doing the baby shark dance with him every night. Annoying or not its funny as hell watching him learn and grow.

As for goals. 3 plus lb crappie. I have way too many under 3lbs and need that 3 to fix the itch. I am also looking forward to some jumbo white perch and lakers.

...enough sleep to do all the fishing I want as I am now retired and plan on fishing everyday. I even have the wife's blessing...she's tired of me already. Gotta love those win-win situations?  ;)

Two episodes always crack me up.

1) The model UN episode where the kids are bickering and the teacher asks them: “Do you think all of the world’s countries act this way?” I’ve seen it a bazillion times and I still giggle at that.

2) The episode where the kids are giving Mr. Potato grief by asking him if he is a real potato citing the fact that he has legs and drives a car as reasons he isn’t a real potato. He just stands there kinda stunned and confused but the kids keep giving him crap.

And here I wouldn't mind a sturgeon fight haha. I'll have a heavy rod setup so hopefully doesn't take an hour. You fish the river a lot I'm guessing.

All these talks about catching limits, here in Maine it’s impossible to limit out on pike or any perch/panfish as there is no limit lol. Most of what people target in other states (except yellow and white perch) are all considered invasive here.
Within legal size, our limits are two trout (or two per species), two land locked salmon, and two bass in the southern half of the state. Oh yea, 3 fish limit on whitefish, 2 qts of freshwater smelt and 25 eels.

I'd like a muskie thru the ice, but definitely shooting for a big walleye.

I just started last season and I have yet to hook a perch or walleye through the ice, so those are high on the list. I would also like to catch some lakers on LM.

I build myself a sturgeon ice rod and would like to hook up with one on it.  It is heavy with a light tip so I hope it won’t take an hour to get her in.

Thanks, man!   @)

She gets on the ice some, and most often out fishes me, but just hasn't managed a large Winter fish yet.  Probably just the odds or law of averages.  We only get her on the ice once or twice most seasons, but there's almost never a boat trip without her.

She now has a new Striker suit and some new boots for this season.  Hopefully that will help her see more ice...

I got a big buddy heater to hopefully make it more appealing for the wife. A lot of the "extras" that i can go without sure do make it a better experience for the wife. There is always the double edge sword of getting to share more things with the wife and having things you  can spend all day doing and not have to worry about the wife or kids.  I hope it works out for the best for you.

Couple of limits on walleye on my upper red trip.

A limit or two of perch on my Waubay/bitter trips.

Any trophy sized fish!
