Are there any ice fishing tournaments scheduled on the west side?  I know there is one on February 28th on Conneaut, but I was wondering if other lakes will have tourneys as well.  Thanks

Because the specific aspect of a tournament is competition. The one single aspect you would avoid while relaxing and BSing despite any other percieved similarities you have.

The whole purpose of ice fishing to me is to catch fish.  If you want to drink beer and socialize then stay home and  invite your friends over.  If you don't like tournaments then so be it.  Don't keep bashing everyone on the site that enjoys them.  Just because your "purpose" of ice fishing is different from those that do enjoy fishing does not mean tournaments are wrong.  Tournaments can be an enjoyable past time.

If your whole purpose is to catch fish, Then there's no need to compete. Just do your best on your own regardless. Anyway I think what I'm trying to say is don't get your panties all bunched up on here. Tourneys just include the ONE aspect that ruins CATCHING FISH.
