I took a ride by there this afternoon. No one fishing. 42 degrees and raining. I checked the ice at the ramp at Kill Kare with a spud bar. Looks about 5”. I’d be a little concerned going out fishing with no one around.

I might put my stuff away, not sure, I might go back to Carmi next week. There was plenty of ice on Monday, just tough walking in the slushy snow. And I suck at fishing there.  :)

Thanks for the report. How much snow is on top roughly?

Hard to tell. We got 9” from the last storm in Milton and it looks like they got less in St. Albans. Snow has been melting today. Looked a lot less than what I was walking in at Carmi before the storm.

Do you plan on fishing this weekend?

I have snow to shovel in southern VT tomorrow at my camp and coming back Sunday. They got 19” from the past storm and my plow guy showed up today. Gotta shovel out the propane tank and porch.

I might go fishing on Monday if someone is going out at St. Albans or Carmi.

No way you would catch me on 5in of late season ice.
Late season ice starts looking like less than 10in with white ice in the mix I am done. Seen ice conditions change too much in less than a days time to chance it.

Good luck and stay safe out there for those that do go.

I never made it up there over ther weekend. Stayed close to home and fished a small remote pond and Crushed the crappie
