Big Lake Arctic Char

With no action on our usual spot we tried a spot my wife picked out and i got a 27" Arctic Char ;)

         you only live once- take time to enjoy it

the char is only 27" why in the hell would i even photoshop the pic? i dont even have photshop and wouldnt know how to use it if i did. anyway i caught one bigger than this around thanksgiving w/ the same setup- flasher around 18" above the lure just jiggin away, didnt get a camera till christmas

Great colors on your arctic char komocazie. Colorful fish species indeed. :thumbsup:

Neat idea to use a flasher above the lure, it works for trolling so why not through the ice. ;)

thanks guys,  yeah the flasher does seem to help quite a bit, on this particular lake there is no bait allowed and only single hooked artficial lures, i didnt see as many fish before i started using a flasher and kinda makes the fish kinda act more competitive to go for the lure.  the beaver hat 8) was made by my wife and is the hat i go for when its really cold out

you ever fished for Char?? They are an amazingly colored fish...and that is a prime specimen.
My wife told me that if I go ice fishing again she'll leave me. God, I'm going to miss her! :D
