Does anyone know where I can find meal worms in central New York? I live in Oneida, and don't mind traveling an hour to get some.

Mayhood's in Norwich carries them. That's the only place I know of though...

Why Not use the bait ordering link that has been floating around this site. You can order good quantitees at reasonable prices and have them dropped at your door....

Hey Otis- I live in Morrisville area now, but I am sure that Marion Manor will have them.
I just made an order from www.grubco.com (http://www.grubco.com) and more than enough bait to last me the entire season for 32$ with shipping. I think it would be worth your time and money to order bulk if you fish a lot.

I tried Marion Mannor and they don't carry them, mail order is looking better and better.

No, I work here though. I am the Executive Chef at The Copper Turret. It is a new restaurant that is opening in Jan. We have expanded our Culinary program and added a classroom and teaching kitchen to the existing restaurant.
Students with sharp knives :o I had better stock up on bandaids :'(

Cool, you're close to some good ice fishing. Let me know if you want to get out this winter. It shouldn't be long before those small lakes ice up.

Otis, Try a pet store. They sometimes carry them to feed lizards adn snakes. Just a thought.

Try petsmart. Should be around any walmarts / sams club big box mall!!

Another place to check out is CountryMax. I believe they sell meal worms as pet food.

I've been ordering bait the last few years. I used grubco twice and no complaints. myself and three other guys usually pool our order to save $. it is the way to go for us.

They seem a lot cheaper than the bait shops I found, they have mealworms and wax worms. I bought giant meal worms 50 for $2.99.

That is one of the reasons I took this job. I grew up ice fishing all these waters. I would love to hook up and get some ice time in.

This really is the way to go. I've been buying all my grubs for ice fishing exclusively by mail order for 6-7 years. It's almost always cheaper than bait shops. It's OFTEN better quality than bait shops. You have a whole seasons supply on hand. And you don't have to drive half way around the world the night before a trip to find a couple dozen.
I've also been loading up on minnows (big pike size & small perch size) & keeping them in a stationary tub with an aerator in my garage. As long as the water doesn't freeze solid they keep a LONG TIME. This way I'm never short of bait whether I'm jigging, dead sticking, or running tip-ups.
