Finally some early ice action!

The slow start finally turned into some fast fishing on Flaming Gorge. My dad and I went out just as we always seem to do on first ice and we had a ball. His first fish through the ice was about a 21” brown. We then commenced to catch better than average sized rainbows and cutthroats all day.

Glad to see that you were able to get on the ice and have some good action. Those cutts are getting big in the Gorge. I'm still waiting on my first trip; seems like something comes up on the day I want to go out! Hopefully next week.

I hope so! I’ve got the Mrs sold on renting a one of the cabins lake side. I think she would have a ball reeling in crappie. Keyhole is just the farthest lake from my house! I would head up there this weekend if the travel was going to be possible. We’ll see what happens with this western Wyoming storm.
