Nu Way Propane stove opinions sought
« on: Feb 11, 2019, 01:10 PM »
Some background:
I built my hard side about 5 years ago.  It’s built from 2x2’s and corrugated galvanized sheet, insulated with 3/4” polystyrene sheets, with great stuff sealing all the cracks.

Now, the last couple years I’ve noticed I’m having a condensation problem with water vapor getting past the great stuff seals and condensing on the galvanized deck behind it, and then dripping back out again.  I’m guessing thermal expansion has taken it’s toll and the great stuff no longer seals the cracks.  I’ve been using a buddy heater in it since it’s been built.

Does the nu-way eliminate condensation?  Is it durable?  Does it bolt down?  Some of these lakes I take the shack to can get pretty rough.  Does the exhaust pipe take a beating?  Does the stove have any accommodations for an inlet pipe?  If you have one, would you buy it again?

It sounds like the shack isn't vented properly. You may want to crack a window on occasion.

No amount of ventilation, short of leaving the door open is going to solve my problem.  Cold steel is a magnet for condensation.  It was a non issue the first few years I used the shack.

Propane produces 3.8 gallons of water per 20# tank of propane. Slightly under 1 quart water per pound of propane. Heating with Non-vented heaters (Buddy heater) puts all that moisture inside a shanty. All VENTED heaters puts that moisture outside the shanty and only heat inside. New-Way heaters are durable can be secured.
