well heres my rig ive been working on for a copuple weeks! still a few things to do, like mount a large storage box on the back, and an auger mount on the front. Also need to put on the hand warmers and new grips. Finish my skid plate, and find some 2 link chains for the back! this is an 85 honda trx 250 2X4. the front wheel bearings were shot and wore the spindle down quite a bit. got the wheeler for nothing, and had an arctic cat chassis laying around should do well pulling the little smitty sled i built. i used an old on the roof luggage carrier. the white egg shaped ones, mounted on skis for that(Image removed from quote.)
Pick it up in a few days
It's getting an auger rack and a GPS, other than that I have no clue. I shouldn't need studs, most lakes have plenty of snow on them around here.I've been going through this thread, looking for ideas and I really don't have a clue what I should do yet.
Well me and my ice fishing buddy aka my dad will have it easier this coming year along with the new shack I am building he went and got a new yamaha 450 ESP in camp I can't wait till we get to go pick it up.
Here's a pic from today. Got to add a flip over to the train asap. I got sick of the tow bars coming off the eye hooks so I changed them out for closed rings and added carbines for connecting. Also have a ring and carabiner on the back of the jetsled to attach another if I have someone else with me, or to pick up walkers on my way in/out.Finally got a trailer this fall too, now I can lock all my gear and do over night trips.
Nice - Enclosed trailer, IMO, is likely one of the nicest additions to the fishing gear. Equipment is protected, safe, and "CLEAN". I do the same deal with my tracked wheeler.
Eye hooks and caribiners, thanks for the tip.Sled sure does look good out on the ice!
