You are correct, If I was worried about safety I wouldn't be on the ice at all.

If I was worried about safety, I would not be on this forum lol....

It is fun, driving your boat up the ramp, and across the parking lot to your truck/trailer..  ;D

well heres my rig ive been working on for a copuple weeks! still a few things to do, like mount a large storage box on the back, and an auger mount on the front. Also need to put on the hand warmers and new grips. Finish my skid plate, and find some 2 link chains for the back! this is an 85 honda trx 250 2X4. the front wheel bearings were shot and wore the spindle down quite a bit. got the wheeler for nothing, and had an arctic cat chassis laying around :)  should do well pulling the little smitty sled i built. i used an old on the roof luggage carrier. the white egg shaped ones, mounted on skis for that

That's pretty nice looking - any mods planned?  Track studded?  Gear mounts?

It's getting an auger rack and a GPS, other than that I have no clue.  I shouldn't need studs, most lakes have plenty of snow on them around here.

I've been going through this thread, looking for ideas and I really don't have a clue what I should do yet.

That is a sweet set up, I think I'm going to stick to an auger rack and that's about it for now.

Here's a pic from today. Got to add a flip over to the train asap. I got sick of the tow bars coming off the eye hooks so I changed them out for closed rings and added carbines for connecting. Also have a ring and carabiner on the back of the jetsled to attach another if I have someone else with me, or to pick up walkers on my way in/out.

Finally got a trailer this fall too, now I can lock all my gear and do over night trips.

Nice - Enclosed trailer, IMO, is likely one of the nicest additions to the fishing gear.  Equipment is protected, safe, and "CLEAN".  ;D
I do the same deal with my tracked wheeler.

Agreed. I used a borrowed open trailer the last two years. After one trip having the old Mod 30 on the open trailer, the road salt did more damage to it than the previous 30 years of use. This trailer is 6x14', going a foot wider would make getting the big xl jet sled in easier. But I do like that this one is all aluminum.

Eye hooks and caribiners, thanks for the tip.

Thanks, best investment I ever made. The tow bar used to come off the hooks every time I went over a snow bank, was getting frustrating. I used a set of the heavy duty carabiners (240#ers I think) I think the cheap aluminium ones would bend pretty easily.
