Saw this on another site. Some areas at the Berry have thin ice maybe only 2" per the thread I reviewed today. If taking a machine or even hoofing it please be very careful and weary of thin ice reports. Just saw this photo of an ATV that found some Berry thin ice.

That's berry scary, thanks for the heads up K2. I hope they all made it out uninjured. The ice at the view is looking real close to the thickness I will take my sled on. 6in in port ramp. Probably do one more trip on foot to check the thickness down towards the narrows and then its game on.

Wow.... That makes me get the chills i was there two weeks ago and found spots that went from 6 - 1.5 in a matter of a foot or so. Hope everyone stays safe out there

Wait for the ice to get a little thicker and cut it out with a chainsaw. Hook a winch from another wheeler to the one in the ice and pull it on out.
