Besides keeping the dirt out, do these shields improve the viewing on the screen?? Thanks

They do magnify a fair bit.  Lots of glare though.  They are best used in a shanty or during low light periods.   Mine just sits inside the rear of the soft case behind the battery most of the time..  Not so much that I don't like it, just prefer the look of the display without it...I'll often put it on when I'm not using the unit just to help protect the display.  It's relatively inexpensive so if you buy it and don't like it you're not out too much...

The best purchase Ive made next to the vex. It magnifys the display just enough that even I can see it. It keeps dirt,dust,and snow out. It does glare a little bit in direct sunlight but if you turn it a little so the sun is behind it works just fine.

i never use mine, too much glare and its seems harder for me to see seperation

I just got mine and the thing I like about it is it keeps the snow and rain out of the disply. I agree with everything you guys are saying "the glare" was bad the other day but I think I will get some good use out of it in foul weather.

I bought a soft pack. it has a plastic cover built in to protect the screen as well as protection for the whole unit.

I think the soft pack is the reason I never use my mag sheild.  I might use it in snow otherwise as snow in the display can be rather annoying...
