Adding vex ducer
« on: Jan 26, 2011, 08:14 PM »
Have an old Zercom Clearwater Classic, with arm and puck style ducer,
My question can i switch out ducers , remove the zer ducer, and replace it with a vex ducer?
I read some where some one did? just can find the article.
will the vex ducer plug in? just tired of picking it up all the time , pain in the a--, or should i say back!

Have come across a few sites that talk about it. One suggested contacting Fish Electronic. They apparently can install a new plug that will allow one to connect a vex ducer to the CWC. Some have also suggested contacting Vexilar directly and seeing what they can do.

From the sounds of it, it is not a direct PnP without some sort of connector modification.

You can use a vex ducer on a Zercom power head, just need to change the adapter plug on th rear of the
unit. 200 kMz at 1000 watts, good to go
The part #XDCO3F  $1.20, shipping bewteen $3.00 to $4.00, Phone #952-884-5291, Visa, Mastercard.
Then find some good electronic genius to fix her up, i don't want to burn it.
