Nice pike! Why is there always a post when a fish like this is kept saying how it shouldnt of been kept? I dont keep many pike either, but they are tasty! And everyonce in a while ill throw one in the bucket to fillet with the panfish. I guess the purpose of my post is this: if a man wants to keep a pike good for him! Does it make him less of a fisherman because he kept it? Absolutley not!!!

I'm on the same page. Sure, you can release your fish, and that is a good thing but remember--it was probably caught on a tipup and swallowed the hook touchhole deep. Even if you cut the line and leave some hanging out the mouth it may not survive because of the possible freeze factor when it came out. Considering these things, wouldn't the more ethical thing to do be putting it out of it's misery?

nice ;)

Nice Pike WalleyMC. To all the posts about letting it go....you keep doing that..If a man is excited enough to take a picture of it and decent enough to post it here for all of our enjoyment then what the hell is wrong with that!! He is even going to eat it. Its not like it went to waste........WAS IT LEGAL...YES....sorry we are not all like you. >:(
