So I was in gander mtn Cicero last night.  There getting there ice gear out.  I asked the guy when there new raps will be in.  He told me what was out was what they were going to have this season.  I laughed and thought he was joking.  He wasn't he told me the decision was made by the higher uppers.  I said the guys that have no clue.  Unbelievable.  Looks like I'll have to do a online order.

Oneida sure has some nice perch in it.  Both yellow and white!  Spend enough time there and you'll get a tasty burbot too!  Man are they cool looking

Idk how you get over the looks of a burbot to eat them.  And they make funny noises when you put them on the ice too.

Oh Hess...... If ever you make it up this season let me know. I will bring the grill out and cook some for ya. They are the best eating fish, I honestly prefer them over eyes. But I digress, Hard freeze in the forecast tonight!!!!!!! Bring on the ice, I'm ready!!!

I will make a few trips up this winter.  How do you cook them? Better yet how do you hold onto them to clean it lol

They are slimy buggers, but easy to clean. I let them freeze a bit if I can, but if not just grab a dish towel. My fav. way to eat them is baked with ritz crackers on top, then a white wine butter sauce. But they are great in a bunch of different ways. I have grilled them on the ice with just XVOO and Cajun seasonings, delicious that way. I never fried them but it would be good too I'm sure. You are in MD now right? The closest fish taste and texture wise is Monk Fish. Don't let looks fool you, they are delicious and in a lot of states they are highly prized.
