Gills are tiny in Conesus, medium in Silver, and jumbo in Honeoye. Honeoye gills are filled with parasites - they say you can eat them if cooked properly -yeah right :P
I just figured I might try big bay early, early ice. But once we can reach the perch and eyes, the game is on.
Sure will let you know Snag.

22 degrees here this morning 20 miles north, not going above 32 today, snows all crusted up after yesterdays melt... Hopefully it gets cold after this little thaw coming......

I know. I check accuweather every day. They also change their forcast drastically everyday too. My brother has been a meteorologist for 30 yrs. and he still tells me 2 days max forcast with any certainty. But - he promised to move a few isobars and therms around for me if I paid him some hush money ;D

normally we start around the first week of Jan, so heading way north if you need to fish sooner , maybe big bay may give you a play a little sooner but i wouldn't bet on it

I wish I was a Meteorologist.....Its the only job in the world where you can be wrong 95% of the time, and still have your job. No heavy lifting there :P

I never look at any weather more than 7 days out, once in a while I look at 10 days out just to get a feel for something big like a jet stream reversal or something....They predicted.. (Channel nine news) this warm up 10 days ago, they were spot on!!! The faster you delete accuweather from your desktop, the faster you'll get more accurate weather info somewhere else.   ;D

Checkin in and pumped up for the 2012-13 Oneida hardwater season.

Excited to see what the jumbo perch bite is gonna be like, provided we are able to get back on those mid lake spots that went untouched last winter due to poor ice condtions.... Could be crazy out there!

Yeah I was looking at the forecast from the weather channel for up north and after tuesday its looking like its going to be making ice at night and melting during the day.  So will see how it works out.  I have a few odds and ends to get at gander this weekend and I will be ready to fish.
