I use a SMALL treble on my tip-ups with a SMALL shot about 4-6" above it, all rigged up on a 6 ft. section of Floro.When it comes to setting the depth, You guys gotta try this. I've been doing it for years, use a slip float string stop knot on the line. Clip your depth sounder on the hook when setting up on a new spot, find your depth, place the stop knot where you want your bait set, and your good to go. Re-setting is QUICK, EASY AND ACCURATE!! It NEVER gets in the way of anything that turns/spins on your spools, and It's always on the line and just needs to be re-set when you move your tip-ups to a different spot...
wow raat been there done that glad your safe ! snagger we need a snowmobile bro!!!! i'm fired to get out with all you guys till then i guess the pond and big bay .... once big bay gets tracked up good that slush will freeze...and yes ice under snow can melt and honey comb so everyone be careful out there .....ps and for the record i fished the oneida shore for the first time this fall meet all these guys, i never witnessed one act of people keeping more then there limit! not even giving them away,they were the best group of sportsmen i have ever fished with, there advice was offered as well as a fish or two when i didn't do well and there tackle boxes were open! when i broke down one came to my rescue and the next day gave up a day of hunting to help me!!!!! say what you want but trust me the oneida boys are true and honest sportsmen of the highest quility! this is the most honest and sincer post i have ever written TRAP
What's happening Trapper, good to see your back. Snowmobile would be nice. Still the only good ice is over by the Islands, winds are up pretty good here today, any of that snow blowing off over by Chappman? Another 4 inches last night, man!! What a waste of cold weather..
Sounds like you guys should head down here. We have ice on all lakes now. Going after crappie friday. I have yet to get a crappie thru the ice.

Seen a Sled going about 100 MPH across the lake by frenchmen's Island.. Fool!! I was waiting to see him go skidding on the slush. B.B. was slow this morning.

Ive had a gas hole going for two days but I dont think it has anything to day with the phase of the moon.
