We have a nearby lake that is used to study laker populations and once a year they open it up for people to come fish. It's about a mile hike in, which seemed to take forever with all the snow we have this year! It was worth it though, I got my first lakers through the ice. I got three in total, with the last one being the biggest one of the day to that point. The MNR then check for tags, check the stomach contents, amd take out the inner ear bones to figure out the age. The highlight of the day was definitely when someone offered to give me a ride back on his snowmachine and pulled my sled! I'll post a few pics once i figure out how, lol.
