New Years Day Carnage

Nate and I got on 2-3” of sketchy front range ice.  Caught a ridiculous amount of bluegill, hybrids, crappie, perch, and bass.  Decided to thin the herd a bit. I added some more to my pile after I took the pic.  Some nicer ones went back down the hole along with all perch and a billion small bass.

Hell yeah, it was a fun morning out there!  A few butt-pucker moments when the ice shifted and cracked, and dang standing by those holes was creepy when the water was coming out and eating them away...by the end, 2” was thickafriggenuff I guess! 

Bet you’re having fun with all those fillets!

Hell yea!  I need some bluegil and crappie in my life!!!  Super jealous, those are big gils too, most underrated fish thru the ice.  There is a small lake west of meeker that has bluegil and crappie that ive been thinkin about for a week, as soon as my clam plate comes on monday im gonna hit it.

Nice work guys.  I fished today too but for whatever reason I decided to go up to the mountains and get stuck in I 70 traffic.  Let’s hope for a cold snap to get some more ice down here.
