Peacham
« on: Mar 11, 2019, 04:30 PM »
I’m thinking about doing one last session on Peacham for smelt sometime this week before the pond closes down for this round.

Does anyone know how much snow pack is on the pond and if folks are still driving on it.

Thanks

about a foot of snow pack. plowed road to the middle around a couple of the shanties. I was there Thursday, thanks to whoever plows that place! Now, even with the recent snow, it  should be drive-able (for smelting in the middle- maybe not to drive all over...) if warm weather doesn't eat the launch up. everything looked good Thursday night though.
Load it, Drive it, Park it
Bait it, Jig it, Hook it
Catch it, Clean it, Cook it
Simply put just get out/ and do it

I was also there in the middle of last week. If you walk off the plowed part it's a bit of work walking, but not too bad. There is plenty of ice, I'd say easily 20"+. I'm also gonna be going one more time to stock up on smelt

Perfect thanks so much. I’m going to make it out before the warm snap hits and it’s a complete pig sty. Cheers

Yep we went last night. There was like 10" of snow and 6" of slush/water under it. We got about 70 between the two of us in a couple hours. Drilled one hole and didn't have to move which was nice

We went out last Thursday and hooked into 133  ;D

When we looked at the clock it was pushing 1am and quickly remembered everything still had to get packed up, off the ice and drive home.

It’s a beautiful spot and we’ll see er’ in the spring.

Did you have the orange popup that set up around dusk? I don't have a heater for my popup and it would've been tough to use on that slush anyways but next year I'll get one or borrow one so I can do a nice long night out there.

We had a red one that was closest to the orange one. We got there at dusk and set up in the dark. The mr buddy heater works great. You just need to bring a big gas cylinder or a few of the smaller ones.

+1 on the Buddy heater. Is Peacham still decent for Browns? I grew up hunting in that area and fishing Peacham but haven't been back there in years.
