Yep, ran into that. That and the couple of threads in the shanty left me with the impression that even using the outlined apps the video wasn't a real reproduction of what one originally saw on the screen. A notion I have which may be wrong.
If the unit can reproduce the original on itself then all of the data is there and a person interested in editing can replay it over the video feed to their software of choice despite the (right/wrong)ness of the internal file format. (kinda where I was going)
For me, all I really need is the ability to, at the end of the day, punch up a recording so I can prove that I have this nearly superhuman ability to peer across a flat frozen field and know where to punch a hole for the big ones. Jigs and such have failed me in this. In fact, sometime they make it look like I don't have any idea what I am doing.
If that recording is on the device itself, I'm okay with that.
