With above freezing temps and windy conditions, how long do you think it will take to make inland lake ice iffy ?

With the night time temperatures getting into the upper 20's and no rain the ice shouldn't suffer that bad. There aren't that many hours (normally 5 - 6) of the day that are above freezing yet. That means up to 19 hours of ice building temps. I just looked at the 10 day forecast on weather.com and it shows a chance of rain next Wednesday but temps between now and then barely above freezing.

Above freezing temps are actually good for the ice.....it melts the snow on top of the lake, killing the layer of insulation......allowi ng it to freeze quicker once the temps drop back below freezing....
