Williams Fork?
« on: Dec 26, 2014, 08:59 AM »
Anyone been to Williams Fork yet? I was just wondering if it's ready. Heading up there the 2nd.......if it's fishable. Been watching A live cam at www.grandbycabin.com and I see that it doesn't have any ice yet. It's supposed to be pretty cold all week so hopefully it makes some good ice in the meantime.

where is Williams fork? What species of fish inhabit its waters?  Sounds like a nice spot and would love to give it a try.

It's near the town of Kremmling and near Granby. This will be my first time ice fishing there. I have friends that troll for trout and kokanee in the summer and they always do well there. I'm hoping to finally cross lake trout off my list!

Know one of my buds says he usually has 20-30 Lakers each time he goes out.  I would like to take a crack at the Water Wolfs in there.

Headed up tomorrow, will let you know ice conditions, etc. Going to see if I can get out to my usually spot. Could be a trek with all the snow up there!
Some of you know my spot, so stop out and say Hi if you see me.

Waiting on the ice conditions report Dan!  Did I mention anxiously waiting?   ;D

Hope you were able to get out there.  My buddy said Green Mountain was about half frozen but fisherpeople were only near the inlet.  Must still be skim ice.

The Fork ain't ready for Mac fishin !!
Fished on 3" of ice near the point at west boat ramp. Spud bar only recommended.
With the cold temps forcasted for the coming week, by next weekend there might be some Mac places that will work.
Be safe, and Mike, the traffic sucked!!!

Sort to hear that Dan. This week looks like good, ice making weather. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the report! Unless there is a heatwave that sneaks in, we'll be headed up there from the Springs early Friday.
