Best thing they ever did was lower the size limit , and I was skeptical at first but I’ve seen good things come from it , I to toss 20” and over back unless they have issues or maybe a tourney , but that’s just me , i dont say a word when guys keep bigger , it’s a choice 👍🏻it’s all good

Eyes were more aggressive this morning. High marks but moving faster and dropping and firing up on the bait when they saw it. No shorts until I started on the perch too. First time this year I can say that.

I found perch but weeded thru a pile of 8&9” fish to get 9 worth taking home.

Windy as heck but all in all a nice morning out there.

Fished about 7-1.  Had some ice chunks that kept popping up my hole and blocking a couple keepers.  Lost 3 keepers, a bunch of pins, but I made it home with a meal.  Finicky fish today.  Hopefully back at it early a.m..

my biggest was 13lbs 7oz  ...casting  j-18's  blue and silver  .....  the detached wall was dangerous place to fish  you could  be in a collision  easy ... and the charter boats would crowd you in a heart beat ....

You are right trap, those giant Rapalas were 18's not 13's..... they give out nice vibrations and gave those walleyes a big target to crush !
Nerve racking and dangerous for sure .    13lbs 7 oz is a monster...never got one close to that anywhere.
Trolling the shoreline over there was hairy too. Those regular charters would "claim" the sweet spot going east towards cemetery, then re-claim it coming back west towards the harbor. We all had boards out too and they would run you in way to shallow and you'd slam a board into the rocks and hang a lure on the bottom if you did not move out of their way !
But I was not a regular there, and they were trying to make a living, so I gave them a WIDE berth when passing .

Nice job on the fish today guy's
My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!

Walleye were on fire the last 90 mins.  Grabbed a limit n sent many back down below.  Many over 20”.

An inch or two of snow and quite a bit of bare ice.

Nice job Paul. Much better bite tonight than a couple days ago...

That was in my back yard.  I don't dump my bucket till I get home unless I drop some blood down the hole to call em in.  I have a lid for it during transport.  I've been lucky no shanty followers been setting up within 150 yards.

Myself and 3-4 friends are headed up about mid week from Williamsport PA to fish Onedia for the first time.
We'll be staying at the Angler's Bay Cottages and going out on 4 wheelers. We are all really really stoked! (40 something year old men feeling like kids at Christmas!)
Any warnings or advice for us Oneida first timers?

Myself, a friend, and his son hit the lake yesterday pm. Less snow up at the lake than the Syracuse area got from the am snowfall. Easy travel maybe an inch of snow on the ice. It’s mostly all blown off. Friends son was using his new camera. Pretty cool seeing how the fish react to and approach the lure. He got some cool video but I’m not sure how to post them.

slow morning for me......chapman park.......had a little flury about 10 and ended up with 8 perch for my neighbor......couple short eyes also.......not the best weather day I've ever seen but doable......saw a couple pail sitters on the way in.....brought back memories......looking outside and seeing the prettiest big snowflakes......should put a nice coating of snow for the sledders

Onieda has humbled me for the 3rd straight Sunday. Im yet to put a legal eye on the ice..dropped to at the hole at chapman last week..went out of Godfrey this morning. Started at 32ft moved twice to 39 ft..then moved back in working into 18fow..only one short eye..could pull them 6-8 foot off the bottom but they would only watch...I knew it was going to be one of those days when my buddy landed a mudpuppy....maybe I will try a afternoon outing seems like guys do better on the late bite. Ice and drag was good at least
