Preferred Weather Forecast/Radar
« on: Feb 14, 2018, 07:46 AM »
Wondering what everyone's preferred forecast and radar options are.

Forecast wise I use Weather.gov and then enter my zip code for the 7 day forecast.  I also check out the Buffalo Winter Weather offerings.  For me the storm total for snowfall is usually of interest as are the short/mid/long term predictions for temperature and precipitation and of course the lake effect polygon.

For Radar I use the Intelicast interactive radar because I can zoom in and out.

What do you use?  Always looking for the best when it comes to wx prediction.

For predicting snow storms/amounts I use

http://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/wwd/winter_wx.shtml

for general weather Accuweather works fairly well for my area

I used WU in the past but some of their snow/rain totals were outrageous...good for wind/direction/speed and their history look back is a good function. Rebecca's Northeast weather and education page on FB is good in general for winter forecasting.

Weather Underground on the PC, MyRadar app on the phone.  Really like the app. It has a widget so I can get temp and wind/speed direction on the home screen, tap it to pull up radar, location tracking keeps it centered wherever you go.   Also gonna throw out a plug for the DaffMoon app, has a widget with sunrise/set, moon phase + rise/set.
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.
