post 2 more times and you can check out the reports and conditions board.  You may want to put a location in your avatar as well as I am sure there are several "Lake Pleasants"  in New York.....Welcome aboard!

yes, but good luck and the ones who have caught them are tight lipped.
They never did well in the lake because of the smelt, the smelt devour the walleye eggs and hatchlings.

The north west side of island, Which is  kitty corner from where you were fishing. Indian lake has more smelt. Go just about anywhere in 25 fow and you will find smelt.

The adk lakes have very little benthic life due to acid rain. It makes it tough for fish to grow

Depends on the lake. Lake Pleasant has a bunch of aquatic insects. Aquatic worms, mayfly larvae, etc. Perch are loaded with bugs when cleaned. Walleye are hard to catch from Sacandaga and Lake Pleasant as the smelt compete with fingerling walleye stocked as well as eat most if not all natural reproduced fry. The walleye that do survive are so stuffed on smelt they do not take anything else. Double whammy. State has stocked lakers in there to cut down on the smelt and hopefully help the walleye. Back 25 years ago, walleye were plentiful in both lakes and were naturally reproducing. I'm hoping the lakers take but it seems they would be being caught by now. They started stocking them in 2008...

We are planning on taking out a group of kids Sunday (Fishing Club) we have the spot. Please post updates on the ice conditions if possible close to Sunday. More or less looking if there is standing water slush etc. Kids will not enjoy a day standing in water that's for sure.

Close to 12" of ice. No slush, bring creepers, you are going to need them. Surface is perfect for ice skating.

I am planning on fishing Lake Pleasant in the next couple days.  I have gathered that a good way to access the lake is by parking at the "Fire House" and follow the snowmobile trail down to the lake.   My question is . . . . where is the fire house???    Sorry for being ignorant, but at least I am not stupid.

It's on the North East corner of the lake, right on 8 and 30. You're going to want to park in the lot right along 8 and 30 all the towards the outlet.

Not any more. The land next to the bridge was bought and fenced off a few years ago. 😢
