laker and bow tips
« on: Jan 16, 2008, 07:12 PM »
I recently purchased a swedish pimple and a lure called a laker taker made by the same company. Does any one have any tips to use these for jigging for lakers and rainbows?

Get a couple more you just can't go out with one for starters. I use Pimples for Lakers, Rainbows I can't figure out. But generally I'll start jigging right on the bottom in 15 fow water or less when jigging for lakers. Poping the pimple off the bottom in about 3 sec intervals then every 4 or 5th interval I'll give the jig a bunch of tiny or light twitches raising it slowly off the bottom simultaneously about 2-3 feet then let it flutter down. Do that just by raising your arm. After about 10-15 min of that I'll reel in about 2-3ft of line and start the process all over. Except when the jig bottoms out suspended 2-3ft up I'll wigle my rod tip inbetween pops and throw a twitch here and there. 9 out of 10 times there going to smash it when your lightly twitching it and raising it.

A piece of cut bait will help out sometimes also.
