Here is a link for a website I found. It has some good info about ice safety :callcops:, formations, pressure crack etc.

Great read lots of information.  I was wondering what causes the ice to "Boom or Sing"?  When I started to icefishing  a friend that grew up in Minnesota that when the is booming or singing that is a sign that the ice is growing or making more ice.  I like to hear it but what causes it?
