Hey does anyone know if you can still ice fish on fishable ice after April 1st.
Can you fish now in open water with a rod and reel?
Sorry i know this is probably in the book but i left it in the shack and dont want to go get it.

Every computer you have with internet access IS a rule book!
http://www.maine.gov/ifw/laws_rules/index.htm (http://www.maine.gov/ifw/laws_rules/index.htm)
Allex,
That's CI not C1.
In a nutshell. You can ice fish if you are:
1: standing on ice formed by the lake you are fishing on.
2: You use man-made holes not natural openings.
3: There are no rules prohibiting it by S-codes or similar.

I am going this Friday it is going to be cool ice fishing on the 1st of April. I might even cast a line in the river on the way home!

i think the most accurate answer would be: it depends on the body of water; so you may want to run to the shack or check it out online.
