Took close to 4 drive yesterday to check out were i like to cusk in March sketchy variable ice to say the least but think can stay on top side if temps stay reasonable.  That being said making backup plan cause lots can change in a week.  Was curious if waukewan has a fishable population of them in there? I see they're listed but that doesn't mean much. Feel free to Pm I'll exchange upper valley Intel

Made it back to spot Saturday afternoon surprisingly road travel was great lake travel not so much.  Ice had about 14inches of of liquid snow almost frosting consistency Wich made dragging a smitty out real tough.  Trudged to cusk on 4to5 Inces solid ice and put sets in.  Jig bite was non existent for me but managed 10 on set lines by midnight and not another through night.  5 were decent eaters 5were runts that could barely fit smelt in there mouths Wich wasn't bad cause they couldn't actually swallow hook and were releasable.  At least tour was fruitful got some poor man's and they're starting to stack in bay will be back at it next weekend.
