Mega Live and 2D

I have a new Mega Live that I'm figuring out. Question about using ML and a 2D transducer at the same time. When I pull the 2D transducer out the ML loses it's reading. Confused why the 2D signal would effect the ML reading. Also, is there a setting to prevent this from happening? Thanks
