31* and cloudy, I guess it's not going to warm up much today and be windy.

Ice-45, good to see.

Eddie, good luck with the truck shopping.

F/H4, boat is looking good, you getting any sleep?

OS, FDU sure has been lucky. They did look pretty good.

Dinner was very good last night.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well...h2l

Good morning everyone

12 degrees, we may see 20 later on this afternoon. Tonight it drops to +6 with wind, winter sure seems to be dragging on here :cookoo:

Just a quick "Hello" as we are getting set for a shack run. I doubt we will even be able to walk in, but always fun to see what's around for tracks.

Hope you all have a good Saturday  Stay safe and keep healthy.

IFF good lucknwith the shipping container, I have been looking at getting one for awhile and making a cold room in it and cutting station, my brother got one and made it into a fur shack. He put a pellet stove in it to get things warmed up so he can take the fur off the critters during the winter so he can stretch and get them ready for the fur market.  Well might get my other new toy put together and hit the ice for a last trip of the season maybe.

Good Late Morning ER's  Surprised Jake let me sleep in.
Steve This area of the state has virtually no building codes, out side of an established development, and seems like over half have a shipping containers for storage buildings.  I'm sure there shouldn't be a problem, as I see deliveries to the near by Dollar General being made with Semi tractor/trailers of 40'.

Winter is still hanging on, with forecast low over night to be near 20 or.  At least now the sun is shinning.

Marv hope you don't have to have snow shoes when visiting the Shack.

OS yeah bet Purdue didn't see that coming.  ::) :woot: neither did me and a lot of fans of College Basketball.

A dump run, and back to the recliner and more March Madness for me.

Well tried to get fishing today, sold a few minnows and loaded up and headed towards the lake but it was getting harder and harder to push forward and stopped and the passenger side brake was locked up and holding. Tried a few things and could not get it loosened up and tried to head towards the house with no luck. Unloaded the sxs and the wife headed for the house for jeep and tool box. Called my brother and he amd my dad headed. The wife showed up with jeep and no tool. She went back and brother amd dad showed up. Brother bled the brakes and freed them up. So headed for the house. Drove great with no issues. But might be the brake line suction together and not releasing so new brake line and caliper for that side in my near future. Loaded the jeep up to the enclosed and sxs and off we went. Hit the road down to where I wanted to fish and the trailer was wider than the plowed road. Got stuck and had to unload the sxs again and finally got moving, but dented a front corner of the trailer and finally got to a place I could turn around and park. Drove to the lake and could have fished bit it just seemed to be the day so came home and tore truck apart so I can hopefully fix it tomorrow and get ready for the long drive to get the boat.

Well the old boat went on the market wish me luck. Now to get the new tail lights installed tomorrow and new bunks when the carpet arrives.

Good Sunday morning everyone

9 degrees to start the morning, may make it up to 30 by the afternoon. The wind has finally tapered off some so at least the snow won't be blowing like yesterday.

IW...Hope your day of puttering went well

Eddie...Sounds like a fun day having the grandchildren over for the afternoon. King of the hill brings back some fond memories  Good luck with your truck decision. I am going through the same thing with my Tahoe. I have "fixed it for the last time", 3x ago Lol. The last time I drove it in February, there was a big puddle of gas when I returned to the parking spot. I talked to my mechanic and he said it's probably a switch/valve above the gas tank that leaks gas when it's moving. After explaining what the job entails getting to the switch and what parts most likely need to be replaced due to age and rust, I wasn't surprised to hear him say about $1000 to fix it. It's kind of hard to sell without fixing, but with everything that's wrong with it, it's not worth much even if I do ???

45...Nice to see you drop in. Hope all is going better

WW...As always, awesome baking pictures   Will be sending best wishes x3 this morning for your granddaughters last high school hockey game. I hope her and the team can get the win

Fish...What an effort trying to get on the ice. Best of luck with the brake fix

Yesterdays shack run was fun, lots of snow that needs to melt. We saw a few groups of deer, a couple haystacks had 25+ standing around eating off of them. Around the shack there were very few tracks. I was happy to see most of the snow had slid off the shack roof. The downside it the amount that is now in front of the door.

Hope everyone has a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Good Morning Marv, Wally, Morning Everyone,
Clear and windy 17* to start the day off, picked up about an inch or so of snow overnight, high of 28 today.

Wally…what a great surprise that had to be for your granddaughter yesterday, love it!!   Sending all of our best luck wishes to your granddaughter and the team today!! What a memory she will always have playing her last high school game at the Garden, now that’s Awesome…have a great time!
Marv…wow, no shortage of snow up at the shack! Thanks for sharing the picture and the adventure!   Sounds like your Tahoe and my Silverado were cut from the same cloth, lol. I’m debating on putting some $$ back in it and keeping it for a plow truck or selling “ As Is “… ;D
FH4…what a day you had, yikes! Glad you were able to get off the ice and hope the repair goes smoothly today…best of luck to you selling the old rig!
Bud…caught the 2nd half of the Jayhawks/Arkansas game, what a game right down to the final seconds. Sorry for the Kansas loss…intense game!
H2…good luck to the team tonight on the lanes!   How was the crowd yesterday at the sugar shack?
Jeff…imagine you might have been near the single digits this morning up north?

Got a message from my youngest son this morning around 4am, he was heading up to the Salmon River on another steelhead trip. Imagine he will be cleaning a lot of ice out of the guides today with the temps up there.
Not much on the planner yet, believe a few of the kids will be stopping by later in the day.  Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Open house went well, everyone liked the pancakes one of the ladies made.

RO machine.
Lots of kids to carry firewood. Most of the people that show up are families of Ron's co-workers at the jail. Most are hunters so lots of stories of this past season.
20* and a dusting of snow this morning.

WW, hope you had a good time at the game.

WS, looks like the shack made it. Snow should go fast, Spring is in the air.

Hope everyone has a good day and be well....h2l

IFF, that one had to be hard to take. Sorry! A lot of "good" teams are going to be "watching" the rest of the Madness.

Brisk 20* here this morning.  That snow at Marv’s shack made my back say OUCH

When it comes to March Madness that the way the ball bounces.

Not much on my planner for today just to decide what’s for dinner

On the 9th of March I found a small lump on the inside of my right leg.
By the 12th it grew to walnut sized. The 14th it was the size of an XL egg.
On Friday the Dr. carved me open to drain the abscess. Been on the couch since then.
Dr has me off all week and the following week I'm on vacation.
I just need the incision pain to go away so I can do stuff.
Need to get the SxS out to the cabin so I can have my solar panels loaded onto my trailer to haul out to the cabin.

Good evening, after temperatures in the high fifties past few days a cool Sunday with a high in upper thirties and windy. In local high school sports news two basketball teams competed in state basketball championship games today. Millbrook (Dutchess county) won the girls class C title and Chapel Field lost in the Boy's Class D game.
Wallyworld congratulations to your granddaughter and her teammates on winning the state championship in ice hockey for their school class.
Drifter may you get over what ever caused the abscess to form and be able to get to your cabin during upcoming vacation.
Fish/hunt4ever sorry you did not get to fish glad your dad and brother were available to help you free the locked brakes on your truck. May you get repairs done and be able to pick up your new boat.
Whopper Stopper good to hear you found the shack in good shape hopefully the snow will have melted when you make next trip. So there will be no need to shovel to get into the building.
Eddie best wished for you what ever decision you make regarding the truck . I hope your son caught some steelhead and it was not chilly of a day on the salmon river.
Hunts2long thank you for the photos your nephew has made a sizable investment to produce maple syrup if he has an RO machine to help in the process.
IFF nice you have limited building and zoning codes to deal with may you find a shipping container in good shape at a reasonable price.
Ice Wanderer thank you for providing the elevation information on difference between your home and Warrensburg .

May everyone have a good week.

Good Morning Everyone,
Clear and fairly calm 20*, warming up into the upper 40’s today.

Wally.. CONGRATULATIONS to your granddaughter and team on their Championship victory!! What a great job…so glad you and Mr.WW were able to be there supporting her, fantastic!!
Steve…the weather conditions were less than ideal for my son and his buddies up there, but that didn’t stop them lol. Fishing was on the slow side, but they all had a chance to hook into some fish. Believe they hit 3 different streams throughout the day before heading home.
Dave…wow, X2 on Marv’s reply, sorry to read that! Hope you’re feeling some relief today and everything works out well in the healing process….best wishes are with you Sir!
H2…thanks for sharing the pictures, hope the lanes treated you well last evening!
Jeff/Marv…hope you fellas have an easy schedule on today’s planner!

Should be a good day for seeing some of this snow disappear today, tomorrow looks even better before things turn ugly again, lol. Off to the Dr.’s for an early appointment this morning and may take a peak at a few trucks while in the area.
  Cawfee’s on…
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

              Good morning ER's,
It's 15* and clear here on my hill. ::)
Wally.........Congratu lations to your granddaughter and her team mates.  That's a great accomplishment.
Marv..........Maybe you should take the snow blower up to "The Shack" That's the trouble I have with the metal roof, the front door on the eve
              side of the house.
Eddie.........I hope your son had some luck catching some steelhead. I hope you had a good family day.
H2l............I didn't see too many vehicles around my town yesterday, but I didn't go too close to any sugar houses either. ::)
Dave..........You sure have had your issues this past year, I hope you heal fast so you can get out to the cabin.
Fish...........I hate it when you head out for a day of fishing or anything else and everything goes against you. :%$#!:
Bud...........Those shipping containers sure are getting popular for just about anything. :flex: I hope you can pick one up soon.
Steve........Congratul ations to the two teams in your area. The temperature sure changed back to more winter like here.
Yesterday morning, my son mealworm, who hasthe snow removal business called me Saturday night and asked if I could help him tow
one of his trucks to his house. It had broke down during the storm in someone's driveway. So he picked me up at 5am and we had it back to his place
               by 7am. Everything went smoothly.
Today I'm going to help that guy down the road that is building a cabin. He is having it sprayed foam insulation done and there has to have a
special ventilation system to exchange the air. We have it done but when we put the duct work through the wall, he used those flapper covers, but I
asked him how was air going to get in through the flapper if its closed. So I came up with a hooded vent cove that had a flapper in it. I took the flapper
out and put some screen over the bottom so bugs could get in. We putting that on this morning.
I hope everyone has a good Monday eith at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good morning everyone

24 degrees with a shot at 32 later today. We still have a pesky breeze giving off a chill factor but nothing we can't deal with.

Bud... Shipping containers are very popular here also, enough so that there is an ordinance against them. I just about bought one a few years ago but the truck would have needed to drive across my drain field so I decided against it.

Eddie...Best of luck at your appointment today  Hope you find a couple vehicles to look at

IW...Excellent idea on the vents  No blowing at the shack, it's a solid block of ice. I walked in off the road and never sunk in more than 1/2". I am guessing the wolves love it

WW...I am guessing you are still bouncing off the ceiling ;D What a great time

Time to get back into walking mode. I went a couple times last week and need to hit it now that the temps are doable.

Hope you all have a good day  Stays safe and keep healthy.

19* few clouds and a dusting of snow. Happy Spring!

WW, congratulations to girls hockey team. You must have enjoyed that one.

IW, yesterday wasn't a very good day for Maple Day, lots of wind.

I bowled better than the last 2 weeks, hit my average, but we only won 1 of 4 games. Only 2 weeks left plus Hi-Lows.

Not a lot planned for today, have a good one and be safe....h2l

Good morning, got greeted to no clouds, and 17* at sunrise

I better cut a telephone poll that laying on the ground or go get a couple Timbers to set the shipping container on and mark out where it’s resting place will be today. Would be a nice day to go fishing but the water level hasn’t come up any. The daughter will be sleeping in not feeling well as of 1:00 am according to the note I found at 6:00

I don’t know about you all but I am ready for warmer weather

Learned of SIL dad’s passing yesterday but we all were expecting it due to his kidney failure recently

Take care and have a good day

Well been a busy day. Today was free cone day at DQ and we headed in and then got a message from someone who looked at the boat last night needing some paperwork for the bank to see what they will loan on the boat, so we will see how that goes. Turned around and headed for the house and the brakes locked up on the truck again. But this time the drivers side so ordered those parts as I spent 106 total with a 31.50 core charge and 20 bucks shipping as in town I spent 110 just on parts then 50 bucks for brake pads. So figured ordering them will save me a little bit, takes a little longer but will just take the jeep to pick up the boat. Hopefully fix the truck before the next expo for the wife and have it to pull the enclosed trailer full of their product.

Good evening, after Sunday's wind ad lower temperature back into the mid fifties for a high today. Please keep my sister and BIL in your thoughts tomorrow my BIL is going to hve an out patient procedure on one of his knees around 10 years ago he had replacement surgery on both knees the past few months he has had pain in one knee. After an exam and X-rays by doctor found out the knee is out of alingment procedure is to correct the problem hopefully all goes well for him.
Eddie may you have received a handshake and had a good doctor's visit. Nice to read your son and his friends had a good day of fishing in spite of the wind and lower temperature.
Ice Wanderer Millbrook girls basketball team has done well the past few seasons this is their second state title after winning it last year. Back in 2020 they were in state tournament which was shut down over Covid-19 concerns and I'm not sure if they played in2021 again because of Covid-19 . glad Mealworm has the equipment to tow  damaged truck to his property may the repair not be to costly.
Whopper Stopper may the snow and ice be melted when you make your next shack trip. Best to you with the walking program.
Hunts2long hopefully this coming weekends weather will be better and your nephew sell a lot of his maple syrup .
IFF may your daughter be feeling better.
Drifter glad you received notice your new truck has ben shipped to dealer. May you recover from the leg abscess quickly .
Wallyworld nice that your granddaughter and her teammates were able to defeat the other school which has given them problems the past 4 years in the biggest game of their high school careers .  has your granddaughter started looking at colleges .
Fish/hunt4ever may the interested person be able to secure financing and purchase your current boat. Sorry to hear you will have to do more brake work on your truck, Good you have the Jeep and that is able to tow your new boat .

Everyone stay safe and do your best to keep healthy . best to all fishing this week.
 Steve
