Moose I don't know if the site was up to date, but even if they released them in 03 they are releasing 12 to 16 inch fingerlings and with a couple of years to growing they should be good size now.

if you go to quaboag in brookfield you might catch 5 or 6 a day but they will be about 22-25inches which is a pretty nice fish because they have been privately stocking it for 3 years now with 16 to 18 inch pike about 1000 a year

A-1 site (or SUASCO, or Mill Road Pond, or Stump Pond, choose a name... it's known as each) in Westborough has pike.

the state stopped stocking them in 2003...i guess no more for a while.  i think quabog and chauncy would be best best, although quinsig has some monsters

The state just announced that due to the success of the private stocking of pike at quabog the state is going to start stocking pike again in 2007.

The Massachusetts division of fish and wildlife web site is not up to date. The state has been stocking pike and tigers in 04 and 05. The stocking has not been discontinued. A lot of the better pike lakes and rivers have naturally reproducing populations of pike.

Webster Lake
Hi Tarbot,
Do you fish Webster lake regularly?  If so, have you pulled any pike out of there through the ice?

Check this tiger out from Quinsig I meet this kid in Bob's Bait and he asked me to give him some spots on Quinsig for a club tourney because he had never fished it before, so I gave him some places to try. He caught this tiger on a senko under a dock. The scale he used bottomed out at 25lbs :o and the fish was released so noone knows exactly how big it was ::)

That's a monster.  He should have gotten a better eight, maybe a record.  Could he fit it in the live well.

Hey Dave

I haven't fished Webster regulary in quite a while.... went last year only once.  I used to fish it years ago almost every weekend with my buddies, usually one of us would pull a decent pike through the ice over the course of the weekend.  My personal best for pike out of Webster was 31"
