does anyone have an idea where i can get some of these lures? thanks for the help. ???
-
LOL. John, you asked this same question 2 years ago. Did you run out of the ones you bought off of e-bay I told you about? They had some on there a few months ago, but don't think they are on there anymore. Only other place I know of is NISID. Here's a link to their site---> NISID (http://nisid.com/Catalog/default.aspx?category=Ice+Fishing) They are located in the state of Washington.

Those jigs look to compplicated to tie for me ;)

it's heck to get old and forgetful!! i knew someone one here told me where to get them!!!! anyway.i did find that web after about an hour and more are on the way!!! and yes, they are a pain to tie but i catch a lot on them,i tie two on at the house and if i break them off or something,i fish something else, way too hard to tie on in the cold!!!! thanks again bean, john.

g3 -- Do you add spikes to these jigs?
-
what kind of knot do you use on those ???
-
Just contact them (NISID) and they will probably get back to you. I run the line thru hole, grab the end of line and twist so it creates a loop in the middle about 2 inches up, put the loop thru hook and pull tight, repeat X2 and trim off the end. Reading back it seems a little complicated but once you see it, it is easy. Maybe NISID has some pics? This is a great system as you don't have to adjust the angle of hook after a bite or hook up. It always goes back to the proper fishing position.

i tip them with a waxie or a spike, both work good

Terry - you said you put a loop in the line, then put the loop through the hook - did you mean the hook through the loop?? I've played with the snell knot on my mormyshkas, but it's tricky to tie and I was not happy with the results - your method sounds easier!
BTW - finess plastic (wedgee) style tails are KILLER on mormyshka jigs....
-
Yeah OK. But you don't touch the loop, you just put the hook thru the loop and pull the end of line tight, then repeat twice. ;D
-
gotcha! Thanks, I'm going to practice that one tonight!!

Wow...just when you think you've seen everything... :o
