If you break the pull on your zippers you can take a split ring that is used for a key ring and thread it through the zipper pull. It will work good if not better than the original because you can get a better grip on it.

they even work good on a zipper that is not broken like you said to get a better grip and pull straightermaybe like when you have a glove on your hand
