Anyone else finding it a tough bite out there this year.. I know its later in the season but been out 3 times and come home with one perch. Usually do very well with the eyes and a handful of nice perch spots just seem dry this year. Cant wait to get the wheeler on the lake so I can get out to the real good spots. But whats everyone else doing
Cacth them by day, fillet them by night.

I went there Saturday and it was dead for me too...

So I hit Ballston on the way back and caught a nice large mouth and a keeper perch, had another flag wiff.  It was slow but at least more action

Where do you usually park when you bring your ATV out?

When you say “real good spots” does that mean you do well in deeper water during the winter months? I’ve honestly never caught a fish in more than 20 FOW in toga anytime of year.

Made it out friday evening, 3:30-9:30 before the storm hit to no success. Barely marked anything and hopped around with the shanty a few different places. The ice however was some of the best ice i've ever seen. There wasnt one bubble anywhere you looked, perfectly clear. Thickness was 5.25". Had a friend go out Sat evening and today as well, but he was only able to manage a few dink perch.

Saw a FB post about a yellow truck out on the lake today and someone said it went through as well as another vehicle yesterday. Of course not sure if it's true. Anyone hear of such things?

Heard the same. There was a picture of an F150 falling through and reports that the other truck was on the bottom.  I personally wouldn't be driving out there.

EDIT: From what I have heard the yellow F150 went off browns around 130 am. Partially fell trough. They went back to get another truck to pull it out. That is the truck that sank completely. Bad day for them.

Looking to come up this weekend.....My son is at Siena College and i want something fairly close to that.

Is there other access other than the state launch?  Never fished the lake so any help would be appreciated!

Going south along the lake, past the state launch, on your left, is Fitch Rd. Park there, off the pavement. You'll get a ticket if you park on the road or in the power substation. There are some perch beds straight out and to the left. Little bit of a walk.

Sounds like a whole lot of missing common sense going on there.

A kid had his truck break thru last night so he went and borrowed his dads 2018 ram3500 with vplow to pull it out. They are both in 9' of water now...

Icepick, you said both are in 9' of water? .. I was out there Sunday when they  got the yellow truck unstuck. The front of the truck broke thru crossing pressure crack didn't sink to bottom. Do you  know where the 2nd vehicle went thru?

From what I understand the second truck broke completely thru and sank while trying to recover the first. I assume same area. If you break through with one truck why go get a bigger???? lol

Last I heard the Dodge 3500 with plow was still sitting on the bottom of the lake in 8-9' water. The guys were just barely able to jump out of truck as it broke thru. Wouldn't want to be dealing with that recovery bill or fines from DEC

That’s great.  What are people thinking. I was out on the gsl last year. About 2 miles out  worried about being on the ice with my atv.  About 7-9 inches. Looked over to my right and seen a diesel truck another mile out. Lol

Where is that off of browns?

The yellow truck was basically halfway between browns and Stoney. Rough guess 500 yards out from south shore. There's a pressure crack there. Does anyone know if they are trying to retrieve the other vehicle? And if so is there anything marking where?

Yes Brown's. Yes I heard they are trying to recover, unsure if the area is marked

Sure it does if you have comprehensive on it.  They won't pay for recovery but the total loss from water damage is covered.
