Merit/valentine

Trying to plan a trip for next week. Has anyone been on Merit or the refuge lakes lately. We need any info possible. I have never fished there, but I have always wanted to.

From what Ive heard there are a few crappies being caught, in the Beeds area on Merritt.  The fish Ive heard of are suspended maybe 20' off the bottom so your going to need a vex as the bite has been very VERY light.  Havent been or heard anything about the refuge.
