Best Day of the season (so far)

Had the best day of the season so far. I took my son out, we caught @ 25 gills, and 6 catfish in only a couple of hours.  I had two jig poles going at once, and could barely keep up at times.     

I was surprised the catfish were biting, like they were. We caught them, one right after the other on a tear drop and wax worm.  I had never seen that before.

Hopefully the bite will stay strong for awhile.

Where were you fishing?  We hit burchard today and ended up keeping 16 good sized gills and throwing multiple smaller ones back.  We even managed to catch 3 huge shad .

Went to a small pond along the Loup River, north of GI.  A friend had told me about it, so we gave it a try. I had never fished it before, but will definitely be back.

Tis the season. Only going to get better from here.

I have caught a few cats on teardrops and waxied this year as well, sure are a suprise when you are catching gills and set the hook into a 4-6lb cat.. Good job
