oh and id hafta say the ice where we fished was over 6 inches and when walking around some of the cracks looked like they were close to ten...but either way it was 100% safe besides the bit by the dock IMO..........

Sounds like someone wants the lake all to themselves, no?

Was my last day on fav lake. 2-3 inches clear good ice covers with 2 inches honeycomb. Shorelines thawed all but few spots. Prob done for year unless hit summit or get real cold snap.

I know Kirwin is now crossed off the list of fishable ice. Had 5" of good ice at 7am and only 3" at noon when we left. We had to negotiate some shady ice just to get back to the bank. After todays temp and wind, there is no way the ice will be good tomorrow and will probably be completely gone very soon.

Got out today for a couple hours.  Ice is 10 inches and I expect it to stick around for a few more days at least.

Packed up for the last ice trip of the season with the Wee One in the morning.  I may give it a shot myself again, but the current weather outlook doesn't make me feel like I should plan another trip with her.

We are both very excited to go!!

Can't complain about this year's ice fishing after last year's, can we?  It could always be worse.

Good luck, all!!  Please stay safe.

Fished Butler and Saunders county lakes this weekend and didn't walk on less than 10 inches.  Some open spots on Wannahoo off the jettys.

Ill wave to you when I go by in my boat and you are sitting on the last remaining small iceberg left on the lake....LOL.  Be safe. :)

Ok this was a joke when I said it a week ago. Well according to a post on the NEFGA forum this actually happened at Glen Elder. A big part of the ice broke free and started to drift and two guys were rescued by boat. Please be safe! Its just not worth it!
