Fished upper Twin on New Years Eve after watching a friend of post hole through the ice at Fernan about 5 feet from the shore. Fernan will need at least another week or maybe two given the warm up this week.

Upper Twin we had about 3" clear and 3" of foggy ice. Fishing was steady if you like perch the size of your fingers. We did manage a couple nice blue gill and one nice crappie but there was a ridiculous amount of pike bait we had to weed through to get a fish big enough to bend a rod passed the 3rd eye.

Stopped and checked rose. Didn’t make it to Killarney. One guy fishing off the boat launch about 20 yards out from the dock. Ice looked sketchy to me. He said there was a couple of inches of slush on top of a couple inches of ice. You could see wet patches from shore. I’ll wait……..

I checked it too. Ice isn't ready yet

Does anybody know if there’s cell phone reception at gamlin?

Fished Avondale yesterday and upper twin today. Pretty slow at both spots.

I had cell service at Gamlin on Saturday. Perch bite was good that day. Set up over 22 FoW.  With a little finesse work, they hit just about any jig or spoon tipped with maggots.

I usually do good later in the season on upper.

I don’t usually see the size I see on Hayden but they eat just as good.

Finally talked my wife into getting on the ice. She enjoyed getting her first fish through the ice.

Cocolalla had 4” of clear solid ice and produced 3 trout and around 7 perch in 2.5 hours.

Tread lightly out there this weekend boys. This rain may foul a few things up! Hopefully, all that snow takes the brunt of it. Be safe!

Anyone know the conditions of round lake? Was going to make a trip up there tomorrow but not sure if this rain has ruined it or not.

Avondale had good ice yesterday but good luck with all the snow. Ive fished it a couple times because its close to home but haven't had any luck. Seen a couple nice trout come up though. Have fun!

Drove by Avondale today. Didn't get out of the car but the ice looked super rotten and sketchy.

Checked Avondale yesterday about 1PM:  hole about 20 ft from shore looked about 2.5" thick, and top layer of wet slush was 6".  After the weekend's forecasted lows of 21 and 18, hopefully it'll be in better condition on Monday.

Hit Blue Lake late afternoon.  5-6” of snow on top…then 2” ice, with 2” slush and then 6” ice.  Snow layer was firm at the top but when you punched through it was pretty wet.  Landed only 4 and any bites were very soft. Might try Freeman tomorrow.
