Did you find any fish? I have been thinking about trying for Chinook there this upcoming weekend possibly.

I feel like this could be the week Avondale becomes fishable.

What species are in Avondale? Looks pretty small on my map.

Rainbow trout, bullhead catfish, crappie, perch,Bluegill, sunfish or punkinseed, largemouth bass and tench  that's about everything in there unless someone keeps transplanting fish that aren't supposed to be in there (buddy got a 30lb channel catfish out of there and 9+ years ago was having trouble with pike)

It doesn't have safe ice so don't bother it literally has less then a inch at shore and even if you had a board it still wouldn't be thick enough

We'll be lucky if this cold weather freezes it thicker

How deep were the fish you marked and how deep was the water?

Did a lap today. North end of the lake is open water, however saw one guy on northwest ish side 20 or so feet off the bank with tip ups. Didn't ask the ice depth but judging by his lack of venturing out its not great.  Might go drill some holes tmrw afternoon after this cold weather. I'll let you guys know of I make it out there.

Upper and lower twin is good, kelso, granite, blue (north of priest river), freeman, round, mirror, and shepherd are all fishable.  Headed up to the south end of cocollala in the AM to drill some holes and hopefully fish.

You've got a few options 👍

Looks colder than normal next week.  This shows the probability for Feb 16-20

How is Freeman or Chase Lake? I want to go up with my brother and Uncle on Monday the 15th. Also has anyone tried the Slough/ Crystal Lake on Priest River yet?

The Priest Lake airstrip was -13 this morning so ice should be forming.  I doubt Cavanaugh is ready as it was open earlier....and windy today with a north wind....but I might try to drive by tomorrow.  Chase should be good with the recent temps as it was capped earlier but  it was sketchy ice and not much of it.  Snowmobiles were on it last week so I’m fairly confident it’s good for fishing.  Freeman has been good since Christmas with 5-6” most of January and more now.  The LP Slough/Crystal Lake had open water in several spots on Monday.  I’d be careful on that one as it didn’t get as cold in Priest River.

Went by on 2/10 and lots of open water out in the middle.  Should be capped over but middle will be new ice.  Nobody was on it.

Would like to catch a load of decent kokes or trout if possible tomorrow. I know spirit has them but never fished it before. Any tips for a first timer out there? TIA

Spirit has been fickle for fish this winter  you can mark tons and not even get one bite now mirror has a good bite for kokanee and trout plus big brook trout (12")  if you want some pointers I'll be out on mirror this Saturday  as for Spirit I couldn't help cause I've  not really spent the time to fish it alot
