Perchhead 1 and Gillsonice posted above about fishing already at Perkins.  But I doubt there is any good ice up there now. Blue Lake north of Priest has very little wind and might have safe ice first.   Probably need to wait for another week or so of cold weather, especially at night.

Sorry sihlms, all the warm rain has rotted all the ice up here in boundary county.

We went and got a Christmas tree this afternoon, I swung by blue lake and there was a lot of open water with a few spots of ice but nothing that got my hopes up.

Went to round lake and caught some small trout off dock.  Tried fish finder and it works great.

Has anyone heard anything about Cascade lake, I'm planning on leaving Spokane, WA. this friday the 18th around 3am. It would be nice to know what the conditions are before I make the long drive.

Always looking for ice!

I recommend that you check out Tackle Toms website. He posts cascade conditions almost everyday.

Drove past McArthur which is shallow, and it was open today.

Well the drive out to cascade lake sucked but we are on the lake fishing. There is about a foot of snow on the ice but I measured the ice by poison creek at 15". I'll be here tomorrow too.

Good to hear and good luck out there. I'm trying to plan a trip down that way mid-Jan.

Some colder temps up north the past several days with a few nights near 10 and warming up only to near freezing.  The next few days also look to have some substantial time below freezing as well.  The issue might be the recent snow and how much it blanketed and insulated the ice before it thickened up again. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are showing highs only in the mid-20's (up by Priest Lake) so that should help firm things up on the smaller lakes.

Cocolalah has lots of nice sized perch and some real nice trout and lots of catfish.  What do you catch in Kelso, never fished it?

Ok so have a question for all who fish Avondale do you think a rope rail would be good for walking up and down the hill (the one near the parking lot) if so I will talk to the golf course there and get the go ahead to make a " temporary" one.
Also I'll be heading there tomorrow to check ice conditions

It will be a while still.  This snow acts like a blanket.

It was the ice by the shore that was a 1" thick I seen were someone drilled holes farther out from the bank as test hole but I didn't  go out  (my guess is the ice by the bank melted and then  refroze )

Checked chase lake on Sunday, it was all iced over but thin ice. Now it probably has 2 feet of snow on top of the thin layer.
