Has anyone checked the north end of Cocollala? With this weather it should be fishable.

It's been below zero the past few mornings at Priest Lake but not much for ice on the big Lake.  Coolin just has a skim of ice and up around the Narrows it's between a skim and nothing.   Need another week of temps like this to get things going to be thick enough to walk on!

I went out on the ice at the south end of Cocolala Wed and talked to a guy that had about 1/2 a bucket of perch. The ice was 4 in & solid.

I fished Cocolalla today.  Slow fishing for perch.  Only caught a few in the same spot I caught a bucket full a couple of weeks ago.   Ice was 5 inche and good.

10 1/2 inches of ice on Blue Lake today.  The bite was on when we got there at 1100 and lasted til about 1230. We caught 6 perch all about 8 inches and a few largemouths one of which was 14 inches.  My 6 year old got the 14 incher and needless to say was very happy and hasn't let me hear the end of it! AFter 1230 I marked only 2 fish on the Marcum after til 2:20 and we had no bites after 1230.

Went to Blue Lake on Saturday and got skunked, only 2 bites the whole time. I think I can figure out why. I got there at 12:00 and left at about 3:00. Plfish says there was no bite in the afternoon, so i guess it was the same for me. I guess you just gotta go earlier, will try that next time.

My experience with Blue is it's on during the morning and then slows down until 3:00 or so.  The hour before sunset usually is a good time with lots of action.  That last hour before dark usually is pretty productive for me.  I usually don't get out there early in the morning but I know folks have done well out there early in the day.  It's good to hear others have had some down time as well.  Thinking about hitting Round Lake tomorrow.

Fished Round lake this afternoon, stayed till dark. Ice was 8-8.5" in the middle. Caught a limit of stocked rainbows, a dozen or so perch to 9.5" one sucker about 3lb and a brookie. There were more lookers than biters. Lost quite a few fish too. Smallest Swedish pimple gold/red and an orange tiger glow jig tipped with maggots.

A bit breezy on Round Lake Tuesday afternoon. Wind drag on the line nearly pulled the jig out on top.
My weather definition is/was "Wicked Nasty".     :woot: :roflmao:
Measured 9" of clear ice, under 4 1/2" of snow.

I haven't seen the Lake in a few days but there was no ice to speak of over the weekend.  There was a skim of ice by Coolin.  I was able to get up by the Narrows and look up towards the north end of the Lake and there was no ice up there either.  I'm not sure about Cavanaugh Bay, but from other areas on the Lake I doubt there's much showing up there as well. If you google Priest Lake webcams you'll see a few that look at the Lake.  One is at the Leonard Paul Store and another is at Kaniksu Sands.  They'll give you a sense of what the conditions might be like.

Hit one of the chain lakes last sunday. Between 3 of us we had probably 30 flags and 15 pike hooded from 7am to 3:30pm. Took home 6 pike from 18 inches to 30 inches. The smaller one wouldnt have goten a ride home but kept hooking them in the gills. Also took home 15 perch 8 inches and up. Ice was 7 inches and like a window could see right throw it and talked very very loudly all day.

Right on! i was thinking of going to killarney last weekend but ended up going to hayden instead. we were able to get 2 pike staying out there all day. if this snow storm lets up i might head down there this weekend

How do you think the snow is going to affect the little ice we had? I was thinking of getting the snow shoes out and going out sunday.

Went on fernan  this morning.  ice is good.  i did learn to pack the snow down then drill your hole.  this way I wasn't standing in water.  Caught some bass and perch.  Using a green and orange jig with worm.  Little windy,

stickstandstring.  Not much water on the top.  Just pack the snow down before you drill yours hole and you won't have to worry about standing in water.    We are suppose to be getting more snow tomorrow night.  Good luck on the fishing.  I will have to try the chain lakes sometime.  Maybe next year.  I like really cold temps when exploring new ice fishing spots.
