I will probably go to twin Sunday morning.  Hayden is a little to scetchy for me.   Hope it doesn't rain.

On spirit, if you go straight out from the boat launch at nautical loop a couple hundred yards, I've been going about even with the rock slide and about 150 yards from shore. There has been quite a few guys in that area

Just got back from Mirror...Ice was great, 3"-4" of clear ice under 11" of white ice and about 1"-2" of slush on top. Fished in 52 feet of water around 25 feet and near the bottom. Fished from noon till 4pm and didn't have a bite all day....I didn't mark any fish on the fishfinder either. It was a beautiful day though.  ::)

So i have been on this sight since last year and i have been following all of you n your adventures. I own ten acres in spirit lake but have been stuck in illinois the whole time. Life happened n i couldnt move out. Well, i finally was able to make a trip out here n oh my goodness. Northern idaho is even prettier in the winter. Lake cda is wide open n spirit looks too sketchy for me. Cant wait to bump into you all next winter. I will be the fat guy with a cubs hat on n a bunch of slabs on the ice. What an amazing place this is.

Welcome CC !

We've needed a good "ice-tester" for some time now.

The patter goes:  "It looks safe to me, I'll follow you."     :roflmao:

Sorry man, that's just sick ~ Do stay safe.

See ya out there.>>>

Well we had a pretty nice ice season folks but I think it's time to stick a fork in it. The ice is shot and it's time to get the boat fired up. The rainbows are hungry in pend oreille and the macs are hungry in priest and the pike are hungry in CDA. Take your pick! Good luck on the soft water this year and pray that we get as long of an ice season next year.  ;D
See ya on the soft water or in the turkey woods!

It's almost time ice junkies! Anyone have a goal they are wanting to achieve this season? I want to pull a pike through the ice this year.

If priest lake freezes like it did last year my goal is to try for a Mack or two. Goal #2 is to try for a pike. Goal #3 is if Bead lake freezes good, to buy a couple day Washington license and try for a long.

Oh man, we had so much fun out at Avondale last season! My season was cut short when I shattered my ankle slipping on ice at work of all places! Now that I can walk again and foot is facing the correct direction, I am looking forward to getting back out there. We are moving from Pullman up to Spokane Valley at the end of this month so that should improve our time out at Avondale, Hayden and the other lakes north of there. The forecast isn't looking super great yet, but it's coming!

I'll check locally toward the end of the week and post here.

This chilly weather may give us a start.   Fingers crossed.

Checked out Round lake today.  Just a little ice around the edges near the docks.  Going to be a while yet.  Cocolalla  had a little ice cover yesterday but was totally clear today.  I think the wind took it out.

Avondale was 90% open water. Hayden Lake's Sportsman Access was  iced over for a ways but appeared to be less than 1 inch thick.

Crystal lake is completely capped but it doesn't look very thick. There was a guy ice skating by the dock and launch.

It used to be called the slough, it's just on the east side of priest river on the north side of highway 2.
