« on: Apr 01, 2014, 02:26 PM »
Looking to fish april trout for the first time

Can anyone point me in the right direction, I would prefer lakes within hr-2 n or ne of PA area.
All info can be kept discrete if preferred, and I will be happy to share what I know re open water etc.

Thanks in advance

I am also thinking about getting out for April trout for the first time if the ice holds up when i have a free weekend (likely easter weekend).

In regards to your request for north of prince albert you have lots of good options in Narrow Hills Provincial Park, at least one, maybe more in Clarence Steepbank Provincial Park (kit or ridge... cant remember which one was the trout one, access may be an issue as i don't think the park is plowed if there is still snow on the ground) or piprell.  Also read about people trying at Camp 10 up near highway 2 past montreal lake.

living in Pa or close you have a lot of good choices. Zeden has plenty of perch(cant)keep and splake and rainbows. Just prior to the waskasu turn is a small lake with rainbows cant remember the name, access is on west side of highway about a mile back of the turn.  Camp ten is a good choice but be careful of the narrows it melts quicker there and I fell through one year its very shallow so just got wet. Teds lake is a awesome fishery

What's the snow levels like up in the PA and Narrow hills areas now?
Can you guys drive easily with a truck around the lakes, are you restricted to just a few trails or are you walk on only?

i drove on bittern on the 31st...easy peasy for the z71, although there was also a guy about 3 miles out on the lake riding a bicycle!  snow levels have dropped on the lakes but not in the bush or on our golf course!

Anyone know what the snow levels are like in the gem lakes area?
They had about 4ft this winter. Wondering how much is knocked down, mainly the access road.
