Is there a trail busted open at Spring Bay this year? A buddy and I plowed that trail open 2 winters ago when we had all that snow, it took my lifted GMC, his bronco with chains and a whole lot of skinny pedal to get up that nasty hill.

Has anyone fished anywhere to the west of the Midway Road that runs between Strasbourg and Duval?  My grandparents had a farm about a mile from the lake when I was young and I remember driving on the lake straight off the Midway Road and heading NorthWest and across the lake to fish.  We always had good luck from what I remember and my dad tells there are many underwater islands in that area, but that was some 20+ years ago.  If anyone has fished this area this year or the past few years any info would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

I believe the area that you are referring to is called Collingwood.  There is an active thread on the board discussing the area.

Collingwood is south of midway Rd.  If heading NW from there I am guessing thats arlington area on the east or perhaps liberty / double D on the west

Hey Layne there is no road plowed to spring bay on the ice. Not a good idea to drive the boat launch with a vehicle. Walk on only

Collingwood is fine to drive on....Lots of Shacks and trucks out there today.....Including me........The auger was 3/4 deep before it broke into water I would say 12" easy.....same with Regina beach....Lots of shacks out already.....Bad news is fishing was pretty slow today for me......Few of the local snowmobilers I talked so said the same thing.

me and a few buddies decided to try the mountain in the winter for the first time yesterday we ended up with 23 pike 2 of witch were over 17 pounds,5 perch,5 burbot and 4 walleyes the biggest eye was just over eight pounds. it was nice to try somewhere different and to have some success made the trip well worth it.

Sorry missed the dodge. I'd say that eye is an easy 4. We didn't mark many fish. It was a slow afternoon.

i know i know it looks small its just hard for you to imagine a walleye over 4 lbs   complacency man ..... your so used to catching 12inchers that this one seems tiny.   also remember that im a fair bit smaller then you as well in comparison
