If the rod is new, you can call St croix and tell them what happened and they will replace the rod. If was new to you this year but was last years model I know they had problems and I would put up a stink and make sure they replace it. I sold many of these rods and am seriosly considering dropping St Croix over their user unfriendly approach to Warranty.
